Jobs within the oil and gas industry expose employees to high risks - fire and explosion, bodily injuries, environmental emergencies, etc. Employees may work on uneven ground or at extreme heights, lift or carry heavy items, work with hazardous products, work around or drive heavy equipment, work extended hours, and much more. Galleon and its' employees focus on safety at all times. All employees are expected to adhere to Galleon's Corporate Safety Program at all times, including following safe work practices and procedures, reporting any deficiencies or hazards, and working in a safe manner. All activities performed on Galleon's behalf are expected to be accomplished without accident, injury, occupational illness, damage to the environment, or loss of physical assets.
Safety meetings are held every morning before commencing work, and includes the identification of potential hazards, necessary training, and review of any incidents. Safety meetings are an essential part of Galleon's communication system.
All employees are provided with a copy of Galleon's Corporate Safety Program which outlines all of Galleon's policies and procedures. Employees are expected to cooperate with the program.
At Galleon, all employees are trained in every task of their job. Employees are required to complete all essential training (ie. H2S, WHMIS, TDG, First Aid, BOP, Fall Rescue, Fall Protection) specific to their position.
In addition to successfully obtaining the safety certifications required for their position, workers are expected to demonstrate their competence training through the Enform / CAODC Service Rig Competency Program.
It is mandatory that all Galleon drivers have a valid Class 5 driver's license and have completed the CAODC Driving Program.
It is expected that all employees will follow the inspection and maintenance schedules, as they are outlined within Galleon's Corporate Safety Program; including removing from service all equipment that is not performing to manufacturers specifications or industry regulations.
All employees are provided with Personal Protective Equipment as per Galleon's Corporate Safety Program. Employees are expected to cooperate with the program and wear the PPE provided at all times.
